Colorful against Corona – A project of the school social work and the staff of the Mühlenhofschule.
For over two months, the schools—a place of shared learning and togetherness—were closed due to the pandemic. The teachers at the Mühlenhof School worked hard to develop and implement new distance learning models. All parents, children, and families contributed to the success of these measures. Now the schools have reopened under strict hygiene regulations—however, opportunities for carefree play, socializing, and leisure activities (including at school) remain severely limited.
We want to set an example in these difficult times:
Colorful against the coronavirus. Colorful against frustration and boredom. For a colorful school life despite strict regulations. Spreading hope and good cheer. For this purpose, the school grounds' fence was decorated in bright colors. It was important to us that the children participate. Every child (except those not present) at the Mühlenhof School took the opportunity to create a colorful picture and express their opinion on the following questions:
“What did you miss about school?” “Why is it good that schools are open again?”
Representing the children of the Mühlenhof School, the class representatives of the 3rd and 4th grades hung all the pictures on the fences. Many children missed school terribly, and in addition to meeting friends and learning together, the implementation of the mask requirement was also a major concern for the children.
We hope that we can give everyone who walks past the school a “colorful feeling.”
Wear a mask. Keep your distance. Persevere.
Stay healthy!
